im not surprised at all dayton has had a long history of hatred for hip hop. only press we could get in the 90s was impact weekly it has changed names now, same format but now barely any hip hop has been written about(that i've seen) it comes from what they call hip hop now and the atmosphere most of this so called hip hop brings is questionable n the press in dayton are trying to bring new people to dayton point blank the dem it ghetto but remember jazz Was the same way.

I just read this and I continue to be baffled by the situation. Like, before there were 500000000000 million different genres of music you could search for on myspace or say you liked on xanga, I'm pretty sure there were 5 basics. You liked pop, rock, classical, country, or rap/hip-hop. Although I'm not necessarily a huge fan of hip-hop, I don't understand how it could be neglected and left out of music genres. There's just no excuse. Let's talk about how most pop artists use bass-laden tracks. Or how shit stars like Ke$ha and 3OH!3 pretty much "rap" in their songs. Yet I'm sure their types of music are present and represented in the activedayton website.

I cannot imagine how personally upsetting it must be to be essentially betrayed by the media of a city y'all go so hard for. Really, it's disgusting.
